Microdermabrasion |

Microdermabrasion is physical means of removing dead and dehydrated skin cells
(a process commonly called ÒexfoliationÓ). Using a low-pressure jet device, a
fine spray of Aluminum Oxide crystals are gently sprayed across the skin and
immediately vacuumed up with dead and damaged skin cells that can clog pores,
aggravate acne, accentuate wrinkles, and make the skin appear dull, discolored
and lifeless.
Like
photofacial, micro has no unpleasant side effects, can benefit all skin
types and is an extremely comfortable treatment.
How does microdermabrasion help improve the skin?
Microdermabrasion has the immediate effect of exfoliating clogged pores
(including black heads and white heads), and aids in lightening darker areas of
skin, such as acne scars and brown, pink or red discolorations caused by aging,
hormones and sun damage. In addition to removing dead cells, microdermabrasion
helps to even out the hills and valleys of uneven skin texture, while it
stimulates collagen production beneath the surface of the skin, creating firmer
and smoother skin tone.
What specific skin conditions can microdermabrasion help?
• Fine wrinkles
• Early expression lines
• Sun damage
• Uneven, large and congested pores
• Brown, pink, and red discolorations
• Acne and many other types of scars.
What do the treatments feel like?
Microdermabrasion is painless and has almost no side effects. You may feel a
very slight tingling during the procedure, but this is typically a much more
delicate sensation than you would feel with an over-the-counter facial scrub
containing grains of walnut shells, apricot seeds or pumice. If you feel any
discomfort during the treatment, the pressure of the jet stream of crystals can
be adjusted.
Your skin may appear slightly pinker for a few hours after the treatment, but
you should not experience any peeling or long-term redness. |
